The creatures attempt to lure such travelers into deepmarshes and quicksand, or even to the lairs of other creatures. They do thisin hopes of feeding on the fear of dying victims. <p>Vampires are intelligent undead creatures. They feeds off the blood of theliving in order to prolong their own unnatural existence.</p>
<p>Vampires came to Golarion from the @UUID[Compendium.swpf-core-rules.swpf-rules.swpfcore04theadv.JournalEntryPage.04theplanes00000]{Plane} of Shadow long ago. Exactly howthey arrived remains lost to history and is a matter of debate in scholarlycircles. Over time, these &ldquo;true vampires&rdquo; have spawned many more.</p>
<p>Amongst their own kind, true vampires use the slang term full-blood todistinguish themselves from those they consider lesser but associatedbeings, such as vampire spawn.</p>
